Possibly, if you have some in-house coders that can take a look at it, or if
you're prepared to spend a bit of cash to get it fixed. One cheap way of
getting it done is advertising it as desired functionality at whatever local
university/high school you have and make a competition of it. The first one
to send in a properly working patch that does what you want gets a Nintendo Wii
or something.
