--enable-neb does what exactly?

Hi

I have a FreeBSD 6.1 port of Nagios 2.7 installed. However, it seems
there is no "convenient" way to --enable-neb (it is not enabled and
there does not appear to be any way to enable it using the port). To
this end I have downloaded the nagios 2.7 source and am intending to
compile it using the same FreeBSD port options, but this time, include
the --enable-neb configure switch.

How feasible is it to just replace the current nagios binary with the
new one? Or will this fail horribly?
