Maintaning Nagios 2.9

Hey all i have nagios 2.9 installed everything working nice and peachy so
far.

I have question in terms of maintanace of nagios does the mysql databe needs
to be truncated every one in a while, and what about the logs should i be
running cron jobs on the linux box to delete logs and data that are more
then 5 months old or does it overwrite information each day. Does anyone
have doc on that since the maunal does focuse on maintace just installtion.
For ex: i dont want to be running out of space any time soon do to these
problems that may occur in the future
