NSCA on readonly system

Hi,

I planned to setup NSCA on customer site for remote monitoring.
Can I configure the entire setup (NSCA + system) as a readonly device?
NSCA give me an impression that it is just used to collect data from remote hosts and send it back to Nagios central server.
