Mixed Nagios 2.x and Nagios 3.x Distributed setup?

I am in the process of setting up Distributed Nagios install. Within  
this process I am also planning on a staged upgrade of Nagios 2.x  
boxes to Nagios 3.x. However in the mean time until that is 100%  
complete, I may have Nagios 2.x Distributed role servers reporting to  
a Nagios 3.x Central server.

I have done some basic testing to ensure that a Nagios 2.x Distributed  
role server can send its checks passively to a Nagios 3.x central  
server via NSCA but nothing extensive as of yet.

Has anyone ran a mixed Nagios 2.x and 3.x Distributed setup?

Words of wisdom/caution?
