Nagios Startup Failure

I'd guess the new version is barfing on something in your config file(s) 
that it no longer understands.  Try verifying your config files:

nagios -v <your config>

e.g., nagios -v /etc/nagios/nagios.cfg

That should give you some idea what the error is.
