You can extract the file to any directory you want and then add the cfg_file directive that points
to it in the nagios.cfg .
that being said - if your packages created a conf.d dir , your best way to go is to put it in
there .
This is a "all inclusive " directory where the nagios will read all .cfg files and load them.
