If you want to use rpm packages, there is a project in the openSUSE
Buildservice (http://build.opensuse.org). There we package the stable version
of nagios and nagios-plugins for easy installation. You can find there some
other plugins too, espacially plugins for SLES and openSUSE.
Here is a link to the repos, you can use them in yast/zypper/rug if you
want ;)
