Host Checks & Service Checks

Im not sure where I am missing ...but HOST CHECKS are not being performed but service checks are...any idea of what configuration file I need to look in? I have a total of 18 hosts, when I view hosts detail page in gui I only see pending (except for local host)...below are stats capture & my hosts.cfg file
