bash-3.00# netstat -an | grep 5666
*.5666 *.* 0 0 49152 0 LISTEN*
The NRPE daemon still doesn't seem to be running on the monitored host

*bash-3.00# ps -afe | grep nrpe
root 2110 14582 0 17:37:25 pts/4 0:00 grep nrpe
*
