Right now, different class of alerts, e.g. harddrive alerts, from all the machines are sending to the same contact person. What would be an easiest way to modify the current configuration that all the alerts for a particular machine is (also) send to one person?

I'd recommend you read about and use escalations to do notifications
for custom groups of hosts and services:

http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/escalations.html

We use escalations for just this purpose as we have a number of
service definitions that are associated with host groups that our end
users cannot modify, while they can modify/create/delete their own
escalation definitions. The one thing to keep in mind if you go the
escalation route is that OK state escalations need to be separate
escalation definitions with a last notification of 1 so that the OK is
only sent out one time.
