Monitoring Web Sites

check_http -H www.website.com 
is a good way to start 

and those parameters may help more 

 -s, --string=STRING
    String to expect in the content
 -u, --url=PATH
    URL to GET or POST (default: /)

for more option read the 
check_http --help
