This is because you don't have defined an icon for the hosts in hostsextinfo...

I have been facing the same problem.
I have installed Nagios 3.o on RHEL5.
everything is ok. Now when i open my web interface in the browser.
it is showing like this.
Please find the attachment.
There you can see ? marc.
why am i getting ? mark there.
