Problems with Active Service Checks

Hi all,

I have the following environment:

Distributed Environment

2 x Central Servers
4 x Distributed Servers

All the Distributed Servers send services checks back to both Central
Servers via the NSCA which works fine.

I have two central servers incase there is a failure with one of these
nodes.

Central Server A is configured to send out all notifications.
Central Server B is configured to monitor Central Server A, and in the event
a check failure notifications will be enabled.

My problem is that with only one active service check I appear to be
experiencing massive latency issues with this check ~500 seconds.

Does anyone know why this might be?

If I cannot get this working within nagios, I might just configure a cronjob
to moitor the other server and run the external command in the event of a
failure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Ed
