Hi, and welcome.
Probably the best place to start is:

I won't even try to tell you which version is better. Personally I
use Nagios Core with PNP4Nagios for graphing, NagVis for dashboards
and a few other neat add-ons.
If you find it hard going understanding Nagios, I recommend the book
"Nagios" by Wolfgang Barth published by No Starch Press. ... and of
course ask in here if you get stuck.
