ServiceGroup Best Practices Question

I'm new to Nagios.  Running Nagios 3.2.3.

I want to start using Service Groups, but I'm not sure of the best place to put the service group definitions.

What is making me question the location is eventually I will want to create a service group that contains services hosted on both Linux and Windows machines, so I'm thinking of creating a new config file to hold the service groups, then in nagios.cfg use cfg_file= to load it in after the Windows and Linux machines are loaded.

Where do you create service groups?
