I got the plugins to compile, and nrpe seems to compile with no problems. I edited the nrpe.cfg file, and added the ip of my Nagios server. When I try to run a plugin from my Nagios server (ie, “[root@nagios libexec]# ./check_nrpe eagle -c check_load”), I get: CHECK_NRPE: Received 0 bytes. Are we allowed to connect to the host?<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I have checked the config file for the address about 10 times to make sure that it was right, and it still doesn’t want to answer.<o:p></o:p> So, I saw that the config file says that if it runs under inetd, it ignores that. So, I tried to start it under inetd, and it seems like it doesn’t ever start. When I run netstat –a | grep nrpe, it show’s nothing. Likewise, I also tried netstat –a | grep 5666, and nothing. I’ve also added nrpe to the services file.
