because I tried nsca first and it worked very very well, it also does encryption
with passwords which makes it a nicety!!</FONT></DIV>

class=SpellE>netstat</SPAN> –a | <SPAN class=SpellE>grep</SPAN> nrpe, it
show’s nothing.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Likewise, I also
tried <SPAN class=SpellE>netstat</SPAN> –a | <SPAN class=SpellE>grep</SPAN>
5666, and nothing.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I’ve also
added nrpe to the services file.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>When I add it to the <SPAN class=SpellE>inetd.conf</SPAN>, and restart
<SPAN class=SpellE>inetd</SPAN>, I get “connection refused by host” from
check_nrpe.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
