<big>Hi all,<br>
<br>
My users want to see some semi-static information about the cluster machines,
namely:<br>
<br>
- currently running OS version<br>
- kernel version (+command-line parameters, etc.)<br>
- ....<br>
<br>
As the first approach I implemented it as the <b>services</b> (using the
<b>check_by_ssh</b> plug-in), but it might be <br>
a bit misleading due to the lack of distinction between the different kernels
(not so user-friendly). Another <br>
possibility would be to have the <b>default kernel in 'green'</b> and any
<b>other</b> in the <b>yellow/pink colour</b> ? <br>
<br>
Kernel change logging (???)<br>
Users performing various tests would like to trace the machine re-boot kernel/change
over time or in other words<br>
see that for instance that till 3rd of Feb 2003 <b>kernel_A</b> has been
running on the <b>host_1</b> and since that time <b>kernel_B</b> <br>
came into operation. Is that a good idea -- if so, what's the best technique
to implement it ? </big><big>If possible I would like to <br>
avoid the database logging. </big><br>
<big><br>
I am pretty sure you some of you had already to face above issue, so please
share your experience.<br>
<br>
I look forward to hearing from you.<br>
<br>
</big><br>
<big>Regards,<br>
Marian <br>
