problems i run into when trying to configure something new in nagios, or when I
first began distributed monitoring, most of the problems i had were because of

a new command or new feature you are implementing is to actually switch the the
nagios user 'su nagios' on the command line, and then run the script that is

permissions<BR>on the /etc/nagios directory and all of the files within it were
not<BR>owned by the nagios user. Issuing the command<BR><BR>chown -R
nagios.nagios /etc/nagios<BR><BR>Corrected the startup issues.<BR><BR>Can we get
the nagios -v command to test this condition? Obviously root<BR>has the
capability to read the files, but the -d command fails without<BR>mentioning
