You could start by giving us some information about your setup.. O/S, Nagios version, NRPE version, location of NRPE on the client system etc.
Double check the settings in your nrpe.cfg file to ensure that the paths to the check executables are in the right location, say /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_* etc.
