And some futile attempts at trying to fix the issue.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> # uname -a<o:p></o:p> SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-13 sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-i2 Solaris<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I have nrpe-2.2 downloaded from Andreas Ericsson’s site. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Once I started receiving the error, I went to find libssl.so.0.9.6:<o:p></o:p> # find / -name libssl.so.0.9.6<o:p></o:p> /usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so.0.9.6<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> So I am now running the configure script with these arguments.<o:p></o:p> # ./configure --enable-command-args --with-ssl-lib=/usr/local/ssl/lib/ --with-ssl-inc=/usr/local/ssl/include/<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> The compile runs with no errors.<o:p></o:p> I then do a “make all”<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> # make all<o:p></o:p> cd ./src/; make ; cd ..<o:p></o:p> make[1]: Entering directory `/export/spare/srv/tmp/nrpe-2.2/src'<o:p></o:p> gcc -g -O2 -I/usr/local/ssl/include/openssl -I/usr/local/ssl/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o nrpe nrpe.c utils.c -L/usr/local/ssl/lib/ -lssl -lcrypt<o:p></o:p> o -lnsl -lsocket<o:p></o:p> gcc -g -O2 -I/usr/local/ssl/include/openssl -I/usr/local/ssl/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o check_nrpe check_nrpe.c utils.c check_utils.c -L/usr/loc<o:p></o:p> al/ssl/lib/ -lssl -lcrypto -lnsl -lsocket<o:p></o:p> make[1]: Leaving directory `/export/spare/srv/tmp/nrpe-2.2/src'<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I don’t see any errors there.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I then cp the nrpe binary to the dir that I want to run it in along with the nrpe.cfg file that works on other solaris boxen.<o:p></o:p> I then attempt to run it and get the aforementioned error.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> # /srv/nagios_nrpe/bin/nrpe -c /srv/nagios_nrpe/etc/nrpe.cfg -d<o:p></o:p> ld.so.1: /srv/nagios_nrpe/bin/nrpe: fatal: libssl.so.0.9.6: open failed: No such file or directory<o:p></o:p> Killed<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I think that I am missing something fundamental, but I can’t quite get my finger on it.
