Theses rrd are then displayed in Cacti using custom templates for data sources and graphs. I'm able to graph disk usage, cpu load or utilization, ping/ftp/http response time, mysql number of queries/sec etc. All polled by Nagios. I use Cacti to poll interfaces of routers, but I may switch to a Nagios based polling if I have time to write an interface autodiscovery script using Net::SNMP::Interfaces. Using the serviceextinfo feature, I put a link for each service to its corresponding Cacti graph. The main problem I am concerned with is the ability to automaticaly build Cacti configuration. There is currently no tool available to fully automate the process. It might be a problem if you want to graph thousands things. > I am also very interested in the answers to Jelle's questions.
