I just started using Nagios to monitor my two web servers from a development box outside of the production network.<br><br>I would like to use Nagios to monitor my DB server which has no outside IP Address, but is on the same network as my webserver.
<br><br>I was wondering if you guys have any easy solutions for this?<br><br>Right now I am thinking about setting up nagios to do a nrpe_check on a different port on my webserver, and configure my firewall to forward that port to my dbserver, which will also have the nrpe daemon running on it.
<br><br>It seems like that should work, if only I could configure my IP TABLES correctly.<br><br>I would appreciate if anyone has any better solutions to this problem.<br><br>Thank you,<br>Jimmy<br>
