Sure do. We (Powerset) generate our nagios configurations from a database of our inventory and services. This system allows our users opt in for systems that should be monitored (and in the short term what they should be monitored for).

The nagios monitors pull our configuration from puppet (or rather puppet ensures that our configuration is kept in a consistent state).

Cheers,
Hi!

Does anyone have experience automating Nagios with Cfengine or Puppet?
How do you accomplish that? Do you integrate Nagios with your System
Inventory?

TIA,
