My flapping has stopped now. I still have no idea what caused it. " /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log" is rotated daily so I am a little too late on forensics on that one. I suspect the reason was that while testing nrpe I manually scheduled a couple of checks in quick succession by "reschedule the next check of this service" Hopefully this flapping is resolved for now! -- Rahul
