Hi, I have the same problem,<br>
I'm using Solaris 10, Nagios 3.0.2 and the last version of NDOUtils.
The data is stored in a Mysql.<br>
Suddenly, the <defunct> processess start to appear. The load is:<br>
<br>
Total: 65 processes, 154 lwps, load averages: 1.41, 1.50, 1.52<br>
<br>
The Nagios service is degradating :<br>
<br>
<br>
<div class="perfTypeTitle">Services Actively Checked:</div>
<table border="0">
<tbody>
<tr class="data">
<th class="data">Time Frame</th>
<th class="data">Services Checked</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="dataVar"><= 1 minute:</td>
<td class="dataVal">0 (0.0%)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="dataVar"><= 5 minutes:</td>
<td class="dataVal">495 (69.7%)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="dataVar"><= 15 minutes:</td>
<td class="dataVal">710 (100.0%)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="dataVar"><= 1 hour:</td>
<td class="dataVal">710 (100.0%)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="dataVar">Since program start: </td>
<td class="dataVal">710 (100.0%)</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<br>
The nagios binary is linked to pthread... <br>
No error messages are shown on /var/log/messages...<br>
Any idea/suggestion?<br>
Thanks in advance.<br>
<br>

Does 'ldd /usr/local/bin/nagios' show it linked against libpthread or
libthr?<br>
