plugin/module for timing HTTP traffic

I have a requirement to monitor the actual HTTP traffic from a users
session on their workstation and provide the timing information about
this back to Nagios maybe to display whether the system is running
correctly.
The workstation may be windows or Linux.
I know BMC provide a component called Actual Web Response Timer, which
may do the job, but I was really after using Nagios to handle this.
Has anyone had to something similar ? We aren't allowed currently to use
simulated traffic at present.
Thanks
