Hi.
I am having some difficulty trying run nrpe on inetd
on a freebsd box.
The telnet connection just drops off when I do this:
gaia# telnet gaia 5666
Trying 10.0.250.20...
Connected to gaia.eci.mgn-us.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
gaia#
Here is my /etc/inetd.conf file with the nrpe line:
# Enable NRPE
nrpe stream tcp nowait nagios
/usr/libexec/tcpd /usr/local/etc/nagios/libexec/nrpe
-i /usr/local/etc/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg --inetd
Here is my hosts.allow file:
nrpe: gaia : allow
nrpe: ALL : deny
I am trying to connect nrpe on the same box, but
unable to connect.
gaia# /usr/local/etc/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H gaia
-p 5666
CHECK_NRPE: Received 0 bytes from daemon. Check the
remote server logs for error messages.
gaia#
Please help.
Thanks
-Mukarram.
