php or cgi web interface

Hi,
I have recently begin to work with nagios and I find that there is a
new web interface based in php. I am going to develop a customized
application to monitor special networks based on nagios. As a I am new
not only to nagios but to network monitoring application I would like
to receive suggestions about using the traditional web interface based
on CGIs or the new one based o php.

At the moment I am trying to use the php inteface but I am having lots
of problems, Does anyone try it? Do you mind to report your opinions?
