Nagios isn't ready for prime time

I'd like to chime here... We're talking "open source", "free stuff" here. Granted, Nagios is not for the faint of heart. It takes some hacking to get it to do what you want it to do... I'm not even there yet but I just started(expect some more posts from me real soon).

I've got extensive experience with commercial products and I can honestly say that Nagios is not much harder to install. There is even sample configs in the documentation. The only complaint I have about those is that they're not related. They're all based on different scenarios but hey, whatta you expect?

Now, if I can only figure out why my mysql implementation aint working and my nagiosweb stuff aint working either but I'll post on those in new threads. Hopefully somebody's got some answers.
