Getting MRTG running

Hello,
I am new to Nagios, and MRTG, so please bear with me.
I have been able to get Nagios up and running thanks to some outstanding
community help, especially Lyle Giese (cheers for all of your time) .
My issue is with getting MRTG up and running.
I have attempted to install MRTG on my server (by the tutorial here:
http://www.cyberciti.biz/nixcraft/linux/docs/uniqlinuxfeatures/mrtg/mrtgconi
fg.php )
The webpage where it says it should be running is:
http://onlinebackup.xmanhosting.com.au/mymrtg/
I assume that this is the standard page, untill some more configuration
occurs.
Would someone be able to lead me in the right direction as to what comes
next?
I am basically looking to monitor bandwidth usage using Nagios.
In Nagios, it says: check_mrtgtraf: Unable to open MRTG log file
I cannot find a log file anywhere on my server.
In the switch.cfg file, it says:
# Monitor bandwidth via MRTG logs
define service{
use generic-service ; Inherit values from a template
host_name Billion
service_description Port 1 Bandwidth Usage
check_command
check_local_mrtgtraf!/var/lib/mrtg/192.168.1.253_1.log!AVG!1000000,1000000!5
000000,5000000!10
}
There is no log file in /var/lib/mrtg/ - there is only a file called
mrtg.ok , which is an empty page.
In etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg , it also says: LogDir: /var/lib/mrtg
Is someone able to assist me in some way from here?
Thanks for any help.
Kind regards,
Anthony
