Acknowledgements disappear

Anyone know why acknowledgements keep disappearing on me?  When a
host/service go down we acknowledge it (persitant) and then sometime
later it pops backup and then re-emails back out.  The acknowledge
comment is still there so we delete the comment and then re- acknowledge
it.
