Problem Getting the APAN Link to Appear in Nagios

I'm having the same or similar problem. Right now I'm reading up on rrdtool to try to
understand why the valuse I gave 'apanconf-sql' don't work. The documentation that
I have on the values to give to 'apanconf-sql' is rather vague.
Looking at the debugging output I find the the apan-sql command/script is issuing this:
Fri Apr 2 14:46:02 PST 2004 /usr/bin/rrdtool update /var/nagios/rrd/thoth-ping.rrd -t rtt 1080945957:0.07
Fri Apr 2 14:46:02 PST 2004 Inserting 'rtt' , '1080945957:0.07' into /var/nagios/rrd/thoth-ping.rrd
Fri Apr 2 14:46:02 PST 2004 Returning ' PING OK - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 0.07 ms' , 0
However, 'rrdtool info thoth-ping.rrd' shows the following:
filename = "thoth-ping.rrd"
rrd_version = "0001"
step = 60
last_update = 1080946017
ds[rtt].type = "GAUGE"
ds[rtt].minimal_heartbeat = 60
ds[rtt].min = 0.0000000000e+00
ds[rtt].max = NaN
ds[rtt].last_ds = "UNKN"
ds[rtt].value = 3.9900000000e+00
ds[rtt].unknown_sec = 0
rra[0].cf = "AVERAGE"
rra[0].rows = 50400
rra[0].pdp_per_row = 1
rra[0].xff = 5.0000000000e-01
rra[0].cdp_prep[0].value = NaN
rra[0].cdp_prep[0].unknown_datapoints = 0
rra[1].cf = "AVERAGE"
rra[1].rows = 43800
rra[1].pdp_per_row = 60
rra[1].xff = 5.0000000000e-01
rra[1].cdp_prep[0].value = 7.9000000000e-01
rra[1].cdp_prep[0].unknown_datapoints = 35
According to that, it seems to not accept the value.
When I added the service via 'apanconf-sql' I used this:
================
------------------ Add a service -------------------
Hostname (thoth):
Service (ping):
Comment (ping):
RRD-file (/var/nagios/rrd/thoth-ping.rrd):
Graph-label (ping rtt):
Graph-unit (ms):
Step (60):
Extra rrdtool args :
Adding service 'ping' on host 'thoth' (ping) to the database...
Argument #1 (Blank when you are ready): rtt
DS-name : rtt
DS-type, 1=GAUGE, 2=COUNTER : 1
heartbeat (900): 60
Min (0):
Max (U):
Drawing type (LINE2):
Adding arguments to the database...
================
If anyone can point me to better documentation on these, please do.
thanks,
Allan
