Newbie a little bit confused

A question could be, what's wrong with your nagios.cfg file?

Does it include:
cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts.cfg

where
/usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts.cfg

is the location of that hosts.cfg file
