Questions about statusmap

Hi,
We are monitoring with Nagios a quite big network
(about 600 nodes) in several drawing layers with
'User-supplied coords'. I am trying to optimize our
map and I need to solve two questions:

1. When the 'Status Map' option on web interface is
selected the map always starts with all drawing layers
we have. Is there a way to see just one of these
layers in the beginning (I mean automatically without
selecting it)?

2. Is there some way to maintain a selected drawing
layer after the page refresh?

Any help would be appreciate.
