Now and then Nagios had problem coming up. The message I get is "could not
find status log: /var/log/nagios/status.log", which is misleading. Nagios
wants to back up the status.log by renaming it to status.sav and moving it
to /var/tmp/nagios.
For some mysterious reasons /var/tmp/nagios directory disappears and so he
can not backup status.sav. But the message we get is something else.
Q1) Why does the /var/tmp/nagios directory (tmpfile setting in nagios.cfg)
disappears?
Q2) The message is misleading. Perhaps we should change it.
Q3) In the nagios start-up script, there is a variable
NagiosTmp=/var/log/nagios/nagios.tmp. Is this related to tmpfile setting
in nagios.cfg? Perhaps this was the problem?
