Stale log messages!

I believe someone answered this for you this morning, but the error
means you have freshness checking turned on for that service, and have
defined it with a freshness check interval of 15 seconds.
 
This is almost certainly a configuration error.

I am totally confused about these error messages:
 
May 14 18:02:16 blue nagios: Warning: The results of host 'backup' are
stale by 45 seconds (threshold=15 seconds).  I'm forcing an immediate
check of the host. 

 
I am getting a ton of these messages and I don't know why.  I looked at
the archives and google and nothing seems to help.
