NagiosGrapher: no graph in diagramm shown

dear nagios-list,

i've got nagios3 and nagiosgrapher installed on debian/lenny. while 
nagios is working perfectly
the grapher plugin won't work. grapher-log said that everything seems to 
be okay ...

... but the rrdtool dump <foobar> is other opinion. no data is written 
to the database... all is NaN thus
empty graphs are shown for each service.

can you see the problem?
